For years, I’ve been in search of a theme song to describe my life. A way to release the things of the past and move forward, freely…unbound by the terrors of what was my life. Over the years, I’ve settled for what was beneath me, not knowing that in the end I would get burned. I’ve seen things that many of you could never in your wildest imaginations even fathom—and kept trudging. Like a warrior, I walked through the darkness in search of the light –and not until this point had it became evident that outside of this bubble that was my life, the sun was shining…waiting for me to escape from the darkness and accept the light for what it was. So today I stand here, willing to let the sun shine. Standing strong –ready to accept what life is willing to give without the weight of my past hurts and traumas—moving forward down my path, ready to succeed. I’ve walked the cold, loveless world alone for what seems like centuries, hoping to find my spot…but from now on, I walk knowing that my life has a purpose beyond my understanding…beyond my wants…but for my soul. The only thing left to do now is to pose this question: are you going to walk with me?.....
